One of the great aspects of running an entertainment company is being asked to work at some truly wonderful venues, these are my Top 5.

My Top 5 Venues

One of the great aspects of running an entertainment company is being asked to work at some truly wonderful venues. I take great pride in being a recommended supplier at a few of the venues I have listed below.

I recently wrote a blog and produced a video on how to choose your venue. In this blog I go a little further still and share with you my Top 5 Wedding Venues, explain why I love these venues so much and would always recommend them.

The Bull Hotel

If you are looking for a small intimate wedding for about 60-80 guests this is the perfect venue. The Buttery which is in a separate building from the Hotel itself can be dressed in your own style. This makes it the perfect space for you to have the intimate wedding you always dreamed of without any limitations. If you are looking for inspiration on how to dress the venue look up Locate To Create for some truly wonderful ideas.

There is also a huge courtyard to make your own. Great for summer evenings where your guests can chill out and take in the evening atmosphere with a few drinks.

The food is amazing, honestly there are so many options available.

They are a small team, meaning you will always be looked after by the same person throughout the planning process. They will do everything in their power to ensure you have the wedding of your dreams.

A truly magical venue.

Bradbourne House

I have always had a long love affair with Bradbourne House. Two of my closest friends got married there in 2007 and whenever I back I am always reminded of their big day. It’s such a gorgeous venue, when you go through the main doors it’s like stepping back in time.

There are so many options for couples getting married. You could have a small intimate wedding right through to a large lavish affair and then everything in between. It’s a venue where there are no limitations (within reason).

The Great Hall is a stunning room with it’s beautiful blue painted walls and pictures of those from days gone by, a room fit for the truly illustrious. If your wedding is a little smaller the Drawing Room is equally stunning with it’s beautiful large bay windows suitable for about 40 guests. Then for something completely different The Hatton Fruit Garden provides that secret garden feel and provides a stunning backdrop of the orchard gardens. Perfect for those summer weddings.

Bradbourne House truly is the venue that has everything for you, I can not tell you how much I love this place or explain the feeling you get when you enter through The Great Hall.

Brandshatch Place

I have made a couple of videos about booking the perfect venue for your DJ, if asked this venue is the one I always mention. Let me explain.

Put simply it’s a perfect room for your DJ. It’s easy to access just one door which makes setting up much simpler and easy. The bar is in the same room this keeps your guests in one place which creates a better atmosphere and encourages more guests to dance. Regardless of the time of the year you can make the room dark by drawing the curtains, if you then add a Dance Floor & Up-Lighters to the DJ set up it will give the room a huge WOW factor as guests come back in. That said, whatever set up you have you will struggle to find a better room for your evening entertainment.

Some of the best nights I’ve had as a DJ have been at Brandshatch Place it’s a venue I always speak about with affection.

"One of the best parts of my job is the truly wonderful venues you get to visit'.

Lympne Castle

This has always been one of my favourite venues, who doesn’t love going to a Castle? I mentioned in my opening statement as a DJ you get to go to some of the best venues, without a doubt this is one of them.

The views you get as you go towards the back of the castle are breathtaking. This is a photographer’s dream location. I can only imagine how many wonderful couples have pictures on their walls taken from here. It has to be seen to be truly appreciated.

The Great Hall is a wonderful room from a DJ point of view, not too big and not too small, the bar is the next room so everyone is in the same place. I have had so many great evenings here.

The staff are wonderful too, always well organised and always lovely. If you are looking for a castle wedding I can not recommended this place highly enough. Simply amazing.

The Old Kent Barn

I have always had a long love affair with The Old Kent Barn, it’s the prefect venue for so many different reasons. Firstly they have won so many different awards because of there outstanding commitment, dedication and loyalty to all the couples who book with them.

Every single member of staff greats who with a genuine smile and a warm “Hello” which can not be taken for granted. They are so genuine. Every little detail, even the ones you wouldn’t even consider have been carefully thought out so you know your day will run to time. I can not begin to tell you how helpful this is from a suppliers point of view. You are always kept in the loop so you can concentrate on doing your best for the couple who have booked you.

I recently recorded a Podcast with Kylie the Marketing Coordinator at The Old Kent Barn which can be listened to here. I could write a thousand words about the venue but once you hear the warm affection Kylie has for all that they do, then you’ll truly understand what a special place this is.

The Old Kent Barn sets the standard in how a wedding should be run. Honestly, nobody comes close to them. More than that, they do it with such warm affection. The couples every want and need is catered for, nothing is left to chance.
